levvel
A camera app that removes the guesswork of eyeballing a level shot: real-time feedback on tilt and roll, capturing automatically the instant a shot is level.
Gravity-based tilt and roll
Both axes are measured directly from the accelerometer's gravity vector, giving an absolute, drift-free reference for "level" — no dependency on compass heading or computer vision, and no accumulated error over time.
Custom multi-lens capture pipeline
Built directly on AVFoundation's virtual capture devices to match the system Camera app's continuous zoom across lenses, including automatic hand-off to the macro lens on close subjects — not achievable through the public image-picker APIs.
Seven interchangeable indicator concepts
The on-screen "you're level" feedback is a swappable UI layer — circles, a crosshair, autofocus-style brackets, a bubble level, and more — all driven by the same underlying tilt/roll state, with none of them aware that capture logic exists at all.
Perceived-latency tuning
Haptic and visual capture feedback fire the instant a shot is triggered, with the actual photo save happening invisibly afterward — matching how the system Camera app's shutter feels rather than waiting on the full capture pipeline first.
A name forced by the App Store, turned into a feature
The original name and bundle ID were both already claimed by the time the app reached real App Store Connect setup. The replacement, levvel, is a literal palindrome built from two mirror-image three-letter halves of "level" — and lands on exactly two V's, matching the two things the app actually measures: tilt and roll.
